It's Back!! A news series in the Universe in Flames saga is HERE. Start reading Universe in Flames - Dark Legacy Book 1 NOW. Below is some information on how you can gain access to the story.
My goal is to give you page-turning, emotion-filled, and action-packed science fiction as fast as I can. I love epic space battles, daring adventures, advanced new tech, exploring the far reaches of the universe, as well as mythology & fantasy. My writing blends all the things I love into cohesive stories, and I aspire to create complex & expansive Sci-Fi universes (think Star Wars / Babylon 5 scope). I'm passionate about both writing books and creating artwork, which is why when you become a patron for my projects, you'll get the best of both worlds: Books & Artwork. So, from the bottom of my heart, I want to thank you VERY much for your willingness to join my writing journey and making a pledge at any tier. P.S. My goal is to keep building more stories and universes. I want them to reach scopes as big and as well known as the loved universes like Star Wars, Star Trek, and others. I know it's a tall order, but that's what I aim for.
What do you get?
A lot, but also my eternal gratitude. I can't underscore how amazing it is to me that you'd be willing to help me enhance my work in such a way. New chapters freshly off my keyboard, weeks to months before these books are available on Kindle or other platforms. No longer will you need to wait for 90 to 120 days (or more) to know what happens to your favorite characters. Instead, every 10 to 15 days you'll get new chapters to read about your favorite heroes. Basically, you'll be the first ones to gain access to my writing before anyone else. I'll go into more detail below, but I'll provide between 12,000-18,000 words with every update (2 to 3 times a month) on multiple stories. The main universe will be Universe in Flames, but I'll also provide stories in the Rewind, Far Beyond, and Kyrian Chronicles universes and any new ones once they come along (sometime in 2019). First and foremost, you'll be the first ones to get access to my writing before anyone else. You can get both edited versions & first drafts, and alpha level access allowing you to review the story and propose corrections (depending on which tiers you choose). You'll also be able to get additional perks, such as signed paperbacks or helping me decide story points, participate in a private patreon-members only Facebook group where we can brainstorm and have open conversations all year long, and even have your name added into my final release versions of the books, among other things (see tiers rewards). I wanted to start with a "simple" tier system not to be too confusing and have it evolve as I go. It's not as simple as I had hoped, but I'll say this: If all you need is the books earlier and faster, you'll want to focus only on the first 3-4 tiers. Higher tiers are mostly for super fans & collectors and art lovers who want more than just read the books and who value unique rewards. It's also for those who want to help support my career.
After doing this for over three years and selling over 200,000 copies of my books (this figure includes page reads & free giveaways), I realized that being an Indie Author, mostly exclusive to Amazon, has its problems and no shortage of pitfalls. The main one is in the way it works and how I have to constantly focus on the next book and put other projects on the back burner when I may be motivated to work on them right this moment. So in short, it limits the choice of what I can write at any given time.
There're also extra things I'd love to do with my books, but today I can't because of technical and financial limitations. For example: add more illustrations inside them. Unfortunately, Amazon charges every image with something they call "delivery fees." The more extras I put in the books in terms of bonus imagery, the less I make in royalties. I've already had to make compromises regarding heavy compression and fewer images in the front and back matter of my books as it is to prevent losing up to 15% of royalties. It's frustrating when someone like me, with a unique ability to create visual images to enrich my universe at will, is prevented from doing so (by eating at my already limited bottom line). Amazon is a competitive marketplace, and it's not getting better lately. With Patreon, I could potentially remove these limitations. I love doing images, but on Kindle, I can't add a good resolution version as I would get charged for it with every book sold. In the Patreon version of the ebooks, I will be able to add things I always wanted to add in my books since day one.
I love writing books, and I love creating universes, plots, and characters that my readers can relate to, in situations where the readers feel like they're part of the story. I want to keep doing that while doing less of the soul-sucking drudgery of the typical indie life. With your help, I'll be able to focus on writing way more books as I'm acutely aware that the constant stress is a major impediment to my creativity.
