Star Wars - the Movie!

Captain’s Log – Stardate 71386

I'm happy to report that the writing of book 10 is advancing well. There's a little anxiety that comes with finishing the story. I've been with these characters almost exclusively for the past three years, and Chase has been in my mind for a very long time, even before I first started writing Earth - Last Sanctuary in 2003.

I don't know for you, but I'm super excited about Star Wars (Episode 8) - The Last Jedi. Since Jedi is both singular and plural, I do get the feeling that English-speaking people think that the title refers to a single Jedi when, in fact, it's plural since the international titles are plural. In French, it's Les Derniers Jedi, which is the plural of the word. It's good to know since I also thought it was singular when I first saw the title.

Title misconceptions aside, the trailer looks amazing, and the fact that Disney already booked the movie's director for an entire trilogy of his own is definitely not by accident. I think Ryan Johnson might just have managed to do something epic with Episode 8, and we may very well have a movie that rivals Empire Strikes Back.

I'm still trying to manage expectations since I was super excited for The Force Awakens and was sorely disappointed by how much of a safe take on the universe JJ Abrams had approached the movie. I'm also a little worried with the fact that he's going to direct Episode 9, since The Force Awakens was so similar to A New Hope. Please JJ, no furry Ewoks :), once was enough.

Alright, so I'm really excited about the new Star Wars movie, I'm probably going to go see it on the 18th. If I were in Geneva I would definitely have gone to see it on the midnight screening on the 14th. Preliminary feedback from those who saw the movie is very good, which only makes me want to see the movie even more.
