In the past two weeks I've finished the artwork for the second book, Fury to the Stars, and advanced the book very well. I'm about two thirds done on my first draft. It's exciting writing the continuation of the story and I can't wait to see what others think once it gets released this fall (2015).
The artwork took much less time to make this time around. I think I've spent 50 hours or so on this one, while the artwork for Earth - Last Sanctuary took more than double that time (if not triple). As for the time it takes to write the book, while I started in december 2014, still working on finalizing Earth - Last Sanctuary from March til June, it's certain I also manage to write faster. ELS took about 11 years from start to release, but it wasn't until August 2014 (at which time I had only 40% of the book) that I really gave it the push it needed to go from something left rotting on the backburner to taking the decision than writing would become my new path in life, and my salvation as I never feel better than when I create.
Now that I'm approaching the end of Fury to the Stars first draft, I already know I will keep going the very next day that I finish it and get the ball rolling with book 3 while I make the necessary steps to get FttS polished and ready for release. For the time being, I'm estimating I will need at least 5 or 6 books to tell the story of the Universe in Flames saga.
I will soon post the first chapter of the book for all to read (that is if you read book 1 first otherwise I'd advise against it as it would contain spoilers).
In the meantime, here is the full double spread artcover I made for Fury to the Stars. Hope you'll like it. I wanted something different yet similar enough so one look is all it takes to realize it's in the same serie. I think I have accomplished just that.
Cheers and thanks for reading.
